Photography Lighting Tips

Before I learned about the photography lighting techniques, I often produced poor quality pictures out of my digital camera. I bought a Sony Cybershot 7.2 mega pixel as my first digital camera. I was excited and I was able to take pictures of almost anything. After few weeks, I realized I wasn’t really producing interesting pictures.

I may have perfect subject, but they end up dull in my camera. It was then that I researched online for tips on good photography. I further my research by joining some forums on photography, and guess how I’ve learned a lot from various techniques and tips coming from various photographers!

I summed up the photography lighting techniques that I’ve gathered as follows:

• Don’t take picture against the light especially if you are working outdoors.

• Ensure that the light source will come from either overhead or from behind the camera.

• Lights from the side can be set-up as long as the rays won’t be captured by the camera.

• If working in an enclosed room, ensure that lighting have filled the entire room or the specified spot for the shoot.

• You have to make it sure too that your flash is working well, and photography reflectors are in their right places.

There are many other photography lighting techniques I found online, but I strongly believe that the above are the most essential. We cannot underestimate the importance of good lighting condition in the field of photography, and you must know how to use light effectively.

Whether you are newbie or amateur in taking pictures, you must consider that proper photography lighting techniques can enhance images and can give life to every pictures coming out from your digital camera.

Remember, each picture should create a story – a clear and concise story.
